Therapist at Sub Rosa & Somatic Experiencing Practitioner
Dawn Robinson approaches therapy from the understanding that human beings adapt intelligently to overwhelming circumstances, and that symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, and chronic stress often reflect a nervous system that has been working hard to hold life together. She works with adults experiencing the effects of trauma, chronic stress, and nervous system overwhelm, helping them move out of patterns of vigilance and over-functioning and into a more regulated and embodied experience of themselves and their lives. Dawn holds a special appreciation for people in high-responsibility roles—including first responders, military personnel, medical professionals, mental health providers, and others accustomed to carrying significant responsibility while remaining composed for those around them.
As the lead therapist at Sub Rosa Behavioral Health, Dawn brings more than 30 years of clinical experience to her work. Over time, Dawn’s focus moved increasingly toward mindfulness-based and somatic approaches to healing, and she developed a therapeutic approach that emphasizes present-moment awareness, nervous system regulation, and sustainable engagement with life. Whenever supportive to the client and therapeutic process, she may integrate gentle body-based awareness practices into therapy. Dawn is also trained in ketamine-assisted and psychedelic-assisted therapies and has extensive experience helping clients integrate expansive experiences into meaningful and lasting change.
A Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), Dawn has completed advanced training in Somatic Experiencing, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness Meditation, Trauma-Informed Yoga Therapy, and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). Her work reflects a longstanding commitment to experiential, trauma-informed, and integrative approaches to healing.
